SAFEGUARDING FOOTBALL SHOULD BE PLAYED IN A FUN AND SAFE ENVIRONMENT IN WHICH EVERY CHILD OR YOUNG PERSON TAKING PART IS SAFE FROM ABUSE AND HARM.
Every adult involved in football is responsible for this, and we, like all clubs, support and adhere to the Football Association's Safeguarding Children Policy. The Policy is supported by The Association's Respect Programme and attempts to address verbal abuse and bullying of children on the sidelines by parents and coaches.
THE POLICY FOR SAFEGUARDING CHILDREN STATES: "The child's welfare is and must always be the paramount consideration."
Every child and adolescent has the right to be safe from abuse, regardless of age, gender, handicap, culture, language, color, faith, or sexual orientation. All abuse suspicions and complaints will be handled seriously and addressed promptly and responsibly. Collaboration with other organizations, children and young people, and their parents and carers is crucial. THE FULL POLICY CAN BE FOUND ON THE FA WEBSITE HERE.
